Postal Service Cannot Prevent Another Massacre Unless Congress Steps In
18. April 2008 by Steve Topel.
The Postal Service of 2008 is as poorly managed now as it was 25 years ago when numerous shootings occurred and many employees were killed. I left the Post Office in November of 2007 and got out shaken but alive. How many more shootings will occur before Congress steps in and legislates how Post Offices can create less hostile environments? The Post Office would like all to believe that most of the problems of the 80’s have been resolved with implementation of policy to prevent violence. What really has happened is the Postal Service is preventing any incident to get any media attention. In 2006 their were 2 seperate shootings where Postal employees were killed again by disgruntled colleagues. These incidences were kept out of the mainstream news agencies. I came across them by accident searching on the internet. Another incident in Baltimore where a Supervisor was attacked and beaten by employees but luckily not shot was kept out of the media. How many of these type of incidences have been covered up by the Postal Service since the violence of the 80’s? I believe the number to be excessive. This comes to be no surprise to me. When I left the Postal Service, Management maintained their rigid, overbearing and disrespectful style of managing employees. Supervisors were instructed to instill fear of discipline which included loss of pay to motivate employees. Rarely were employees thanked or rewarded for their efforts. Morale at many offices that were poorly supervised or understaffed were totally stressed out and were hoping to find a way out. As I read commentary online from Postal Blog sites I see that this has become a cancer that has continued to spread to many locations throughout the country. The job of sorting and delivering the mail is difficult enough do to Postal downsizing, and all employees being tasked to carry more weight then ever. Mail carriers struggle to get out of the office on time and get back before their shift is over. Clerks have more and more mail to sort with fewer people. Lines at Post Office window service continue due to clerks trying to juggle good customer service with multiple tasks on the workfloor. When you add in the additional stress component of incompetent, abusive supervisors constantly pummeling employees with negative criticism it becomes overwhelming for many. The supervisors are tasked by upper management to meet certain benchmarks at all cost. These benchmarks or numerical goals are used to rate a district compared to others in the entire country. The top Districts get the top bonuses for upper management and National recognition. This is what drives all of Management and produces the stressors that ignite a workforce. When will the voice of the employees truly be heard. The Postal Service does a yearly survey to isolate problems and concerns of the employees. These surveys are rarely acted on and provide little to no relief. They provide Postal Management a tool they could use to make changes. In most cases it is done only to show Management is listening and communicating with all employees. It gives the appearance that employees have a voice but most employees will tell you their suggestions are never investigated or acted upon. Where can employees turn? I say Congress may be the only answer. The Post Office will never change until law suits from employees or deceased employees relatives reaches epidemic proportions. This could take years and more unnecessary incidences. Congress should act now. Postal employees need to write, phone and email their political leaders and demand a resolution. This may be the only way to prevent further massacres.

Robert Kiyosaki Endorses Network Marketing and Pre-Paid Legal.
15. April 2008 by Steve Topel.
Renowned author Robert Kiyosaki knows a lot about making money. Before he became a best selling author and speaker he was an entrepreneur in many investment arenas. He became well known for his Rich Dad Poor Dad books which explains in a very unique way why we have wealthy people, middle class and the poor. He now fervently teaches his ideas and solutions to achieving all the wealth you could ever desire. It couldn’t have come at a better time. Several years ago when he first wrote Rich Dad Poor Dad he stirred the pot with his statement that owning a house is not an asset. The financial critics raked him over the coals. Today he seems like a prophet with forclosures rising at record levels and the entire housing market facing more doom and gloom. He has recently said that we could be facing the most challenging economic crisis we have ever encountered. He actually has been saying this for quite some time and how we all have to look out for our own financial condition and not wait on the government to come to our rescue. That’s where he endorses owning your own business like Prepaid Legal. Not only is it an affordable business that anyone can do, it produces an income that is ongoing year after year after year. What Mr Kiyosaki also exudes about PrePaid Legal, besides it being a solution for anyone who needs extra income is, it is a service everyone needs. Every family, business and worker needs to know the law and have an attorney who is available, knowledgable and affordable to face these uncertain economic times. My Kiyosaki knows that this business is prepared to help all Americans and most Canadians more now then ever. He realizes that people need this service tremendously. He advocates this business to begin the transition from employee with little money to business owner/investor with lots of money. Listen to this wise man’s advice and protect and prepare for your future. You can only count on yourself to change your destiny. Don’t be denied your right to the American dream. Start today.

If You Have Teenagers You Need A Reasonable Lawyer.
11. April 2008 by Steve Topel.
If you are a parent of a teenager who is a conscientious student and a joy to have around the house, consider yourself lucky. You may be the exception and you might not need a reasonable lawyer to advise you on issues with your offspring. If however, you are not so fortunate and have the more typical teenager who sometimes creates circumstances that can place a family in a precarious situation, I have an answer. If any of the following issues have entered your life, you may need a reasonable lawyer.
Suspension or worse from school.
Arrested at school.
Bullying at school or being bullied.
Fighting at school.
Dropping out of school.
Driving accidents and citations.
Drug and alchohol related behavior.
Destruction of property complaints.
Other criminal activity.(stealing,assault,gangs,etc.)
Sexual issues including dating and pregnancy.
Disrupting household.
Runaways.
Tattoos,piercings.
Work issues.
Wow. What a list. So far, outside of the driving accidents and a suspension or two I have survived (knock on wood). However, some of you may be less fortunate. Stuff happens. Whether parents are to blame or not the parent needs advice at times to help sort through difficult situations. Don’t go it alone. Get a reasonable lawyer and find out all the issues and laws regarding your individual problem. You can have an attorny or entire law firm basically on retainer, knowledgeable on all areas of law and for very affordable fees. I’ve had this service for eight years and wouldn’t be without it. Don’t let your teenagers totally stress you out. Get a reasonable lawyer and feel more in control when adversity strikes.

Wills, Medical Directives, Financial POA’s are Affordable With a Reasonable Lawyer
11. April 2008 by Steve Topel.
Baby Boomers are taking care of their aging parents and are preparing for the time when their parents are gone. Or are they? This question needs to be answered for the millions of boomers who face the inevitable and need to know if all necessary preparation as been completed. This is a very sensitive and sometimes complex issue to discuss but absolutely necessary. If all the necessary documents are not in place before the need for difficult decisions occur, stress, confusion and costly errors are at stake. Cost should not delay this process especially when a reasonable lawyer can put you at ease. Medical directives are essential so loved ones are not guessing what choices their parents would make if they were able to. This resolves a burden no child no matter what age should have to undertake. A will or trust is absolutely essential so assets are protected and stay with the family and not given away to the government due to poor or no prior planning. This is all common sense but many people ignore this necessary planning because noone wants to think about our parents leaving us. A Power of Attorney for when a parent can no longer make decisions for their finances is another necessary document. This puts all decisions of a financial nature into the hands of who your parent trusts and feels comfortable handling their affairs, when they may become incapacitated. All of these forms should be part of planning for retirement and beyond. People are living longer and longer but this should never be a reason to put off this planning. Wills and trusts are needed as soon as one accumulates assets and has a family they always want to take care of. Other documents are needed as we move towards middle age and beyond, however the earlier the better. Accidents happen and difficult decisions may be necessary long before one reaches old age. Consult a reasonable lawyer who can give you advice affordable for everyone. Prepare these documents with a competent reasonable lawyer and rest at ease when you know you are prepared for your family or your parents future.

Going Postal Can Be Prevented With a Reasonable Lawyer.
5. April 2008 by Steve Topel.
Craft employees and Supervisors, even Unit Manager’s can find comfort in retaining a Reasonable Lawyer. The Postal Service creates such an intolerable atmoshere in many locations that simply showing up at work creates anxiety and poor morale. The union is normally unable to provide the cure. The association’s for first level Management has little power. What can an employee do? Go Postal? Of course not. The employee can hire a reasonable lawyer. All Postal employees need this extra layer of protection to protect their right’s on the job. Have a letter sent to your Manager on your attorney’s letter-head explaining how the intolerable working conditions at your office is creating an environment that is unhealthy for all employees. You will get their attention immediately. The Postal Service wants no part of any lawsuit especially if word could leak out to the media and cause negative press. This could be devastating to the Postal Service who need only hear the word privatization to make upper Manager’s cringe. Your union’s do a good job but they can only affect certain areas of Postal life. The climate and atmoshere in the craft for the 22 years I worked never got better. God forbid another incident occurs. All postal employees that continue to deal with poor supervisors and managers, being overworked and not being treated with proper dignity and respect, you have a solution. Make a change for the better. Get legal advice on employment issues and find out how you can legally change the conditions of your work location. Get reasonable lawyers assistance, which is affordable for everyone and make the Post Office a better and safer employer for all employees.
See the Prepaid legal link in the sidebar or click on a banner to find out more info on getting an affordable reasonable lawyer.
