Are we more concerned about our computers then our own financial health? Lately I’ve been hearing about the April 1st virus that is suppose to wreak havoc to millions of computers. It’s been on the news for weeks. We all know to check that we have the proper anti-virus software and it is updated and running efficiently. But what about the virus that steals a persons identity every 3 seconds. Why is that virus allowed to infiltrate our lives and most act as if nothing can be done? I’m trying to figure that one out. This virus get’s a lot of publicity. Large companies lose or have stolen millions of people’s personal information on a regular basis. More and more people are finding out how lucrative this crimewave is. The need for our personal information to provide work and health benefits illegally besides just spending sprees is at a all time high. Why are people so careless? There is no reason to allow your identity to be compromised and have to deal with the fall out that can be devastating. Get protection. Get a company to monitor your credit report and let you know of suspicious activity. Get a company that will assist you in restoring your credit and identity when it is stolen. With protection in place all you need to do thereafter is shred all mail you trash. Don’t sign your credit cards or let them out of your sight. Don’t put mail in your mailbox for the mailman. Get a mailbox with a lock. These are just a few of the safeguards that can keep your identity secure. Remember to photocopy every card in your wallet. This is very important in the event of you losing these important items and someone finding them. This virus is becoming an epidemic. Get your anti Identity Theft protection and rest as easy about your personal information and identity as you are about your computers safety.
